Contraindications | Do not use during pregnancy, due to Don Quai's stimulating effect on the uterus. Dong Quai can increase sensitivity to the sun and ultraviolet light. |
Interactions | Dong Quai can slow blood clotting. Do not use with medicines (including anticoagulants) that can slow blood clotting. Due to possible interference with anticoagulant medications, discontinue use of Dong Quai 2 weeks before surgery. Dong Quai can act like the hormone estrogen. When combined with estrogen, side effects can occur.
